Approvals GM Dexos Motor Oil

GM Dexos 1

Designed with gasoline engines in mind GM Dexos 1 replaces the GM-LL-A-025, GM6094M and GM4718M specifications. This specification is usually recommended for GM vehicles built for the North American and Asian markets. Compared to ILSAC GF-5 it has stricter requirements regarding piston deposit formation, aeration, oxidation stability, wear, low-temperature pumpability and volatility.

GM Dexos 2

The GM Dexos 2 specification is meant to be the replacement for both GM-LL-A-025 (gasoline) and GM-LL-B-025 (diesel) specifications for the European market. Oils meeting GM Dexos 2 are required for vehicles manufactured from MY2011 onward but they are also backward compatible with older models. This specification is built on the ACEA C3 standard but also contains elements from the ILSAC GF-4 deposit formation test and low-temperature sludge build-up test.

GM-LL-A-025

Special GM approval for long-life engine oil for gasoline engines. Viscosity is SAE 0W-30. Product meets ACEA A3/B3. Drain interval can be as long as 30 000 kms. Recommended for vehicles built before MY2011.

GM-LL-B-025

Special GM approval for long-life engine oil for diesel engines. Viscosity is SAE 5W-40. Product meets ACEA A3/B3/B4. Drain interval can be as long as 50 000 kms. Recommended for vehicles built before MY2011.

Cadillac SRX Generations

Cadillac SRX 2016 (2016), 13 generation

There are no major changes.

Cadillac SRX 2015 (2015), 12 generation

For this model year, the OnStar system adds 4G LTE internet connectivity plus a built-in Wi-Fi hot spot. A three-month/3-gigabyte data trial comes standard.

Cadillac SRX 2014 (2014), 11 generation

Intellibeam headlights are a new addition to the Driver Awareness Package. Additionally, Luxury Collection trims now offer 18-inch chrome wheels. A tan interior with black accents is another new option.

Cadillac SRX 2013 (2013), 10 generation

The Cadillac SRX has several changes for 2013, some active safety features, along with a small price increase to reflect those changes. The 2013 Cadillac SRX five-seater is available in Base, Luxury Collection, Performance Collection and Premium Collection. The Base has front-wheel drive, while the others offer a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive (AWD).

Cadillac SRX 2012 (2012), 9 generation

The 2012 3.6-liter V-6 replaces the previous model year’s 3.0-liter V-6. With 308 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, the engine produced plenty of power when driving away from stops and on the highway.

Cadillac SRX 2011 (2011), 8 generation

The new SRX shares the current, second-generation Cadillac CTS sedan’s windswept style and friendlier face, just as the outgoing SRX emulated the sharp creases and upright angles of the first-generation CTS. In an industry where redesigns typically add weight and size, Cadillac made the new SRX significantly smaller. It’s slightly wider than before, but it’s length drops 4.7 inches and it’s 2.1 inches shorter. Gone are options like a third-row seat and a V-8 engine, moving the SRX out of the territory occupied by the BMW X5 and Volvo XC90.

Cadillac SRX 2010 (2010), 7 generation

Like the second-generation CTS that introduced this era of Cadillac interiors, the SRX’s cabin is logically arrayed and a handsome bit of work. The controls have decent quality, and the gauges offer a quick read, aided by an LCD screen that displays digital mph or other information. Get the optional navigation system, and it rises out of the dashboard, using theatrics similar to those of the CTS nav screen. It’s a user-friendly setup, with decent graphics, a touch-screen interface and plenty of shortcut buttons.

Cadillac SRX 2009 (2009), 6 generation

There are no significant changes to the 2009 Cadillac SRX.

Cadillac SRX 2008 (2008), 5 generation

The 2008 model comes with an Adaptive Remote Start system, which enables drivers to start the engine, adjust the interior temperature and turn on defrosters from up to 200 feet away.

Cadillac SRX 2007 (2007), 4 generation

Outside, the SRX looks pretty much as it did when it was introduced, but inside, the interior has been redesigned for 2007. Fine, but there was nothing wrong with the old interior — that’s something every Cadillac has been getting right for at least five years. Front seats were extremely comfortable, and the rear seats were fine, but taller passengers riding in back might wish for more legroom if the front passengers are tall, as well. There’s an optional third-row seat, but the test model didn’t have it. On the road, the SRX is exceptionally quiet, and the ride is smooth on even rough pavement. Handling is excellent for an SUV.

Cadillac SRX 2006 (2006), 3 generation

For 2006, the SRX gets a standard power liftgate, reduced step-over for easier exiting and different color and trim combinations.

Cadillac SRX 2005 (2005), 2 generation

There are no significant changes to the 2005 Cadillac SRX.

Cadillac SRX 2004 (2004), 1 generation

Cadillac has enjoyed tremendous success in recent years, evolving from an aging luxury brand laden with soft-tops and a geriatric image to an ever-growing collection of hip-hop Escalades and CTS sport sedans. The latest Caddy is the SRX, a luxury “crossover” that combines the attributes of a passenger car, a minivan and an SUV. It’s actually a tall station wagon built on the chassis of the cool CTS. Competing with crossovers like the Lexus RX 330, Mercedes-Benz M Class and Chrysler Pacifica, the SRX has the looks and performance to support Cadillac’s new image. For affluent drivers who shun minivans, the SRX provides space without being cumbersome, and plenty of style.
