Hyundai Veracruz Generations

Hyundai Veracruz 2012 (2012), 6 generation

The Veracruz gets a new grille and updated 18-inch alloy wheels, which are available. The Limited trim adds heated second-row seats and can be equipped with an Alpine navigation system.

Hyundai Veracruz 2011 (2011), 5 generation

Other than changes to the base model’s Premium Package of options, there are no significant changes.

Hyundai Veracruz 2010 (2010), 4 generation

Hyundai planned to make some changes in 2010, adding more things to the base Veracruz GLS, such as a power driver’s seat, side roof rails, emergency warning, and fog lights. The Veracruz has three rows of seating for seven people. The third row hides under the cargo floor until it’s needed, creating a very generous amount of space: think about holding more than a week’s worth of groceries or more than a two-week vacation luggage. The second-row seat backs also fold down, though not flat, to make room for bicycles or golf clubs.

Hyundai Veracruz 2009 (2009), 3 generation

In 2009, the company introduced its first truly luxurious Genesis sedan, and its coupe version is on its way to market. The Genesis was so good that it won the North American Car of the Year award at the Detroit auto show this past January. Even the base Veracruz comes standard with such amenities as electronic stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, front-seat side airbags, side roof airbags for all rows, 17-inch alloy wheels. wheels, six-speaker CD audio system with iPod connection, power/heated exterior mirrors, parking lights and turn indicators, cruise control with steering wheel controls, power windows/mirrors/door locks with remote control, and more.

Hyundai Veracruz 2008 (2008), 2 generation

The Veracruz has four-wheel independent suspension with front and rear anti-roll bars. The setup is tuned to float, reasonable for such a vehicle. The crossover is stable on the highway and quite quiet, which means Hyundai’s noise-reduction efforts, including four layers of padding under the carpet, have paid off. The Veracruz has a few flaws, but overall it’s nicely designed and has a number of upscale details, such as a soft dashboard, matte plastic trim and narrow gaps between the panels. Even the silver center panel with air conditioning and audio controls looks good.

Hyundai Veracruz 2007 (2007), 1 generation

The new seven-seat Hyundai Veracruz competes well with its smooth ride, quiet cabin and quality interior. The Veracruz’s 60/40 split second row seats are spacious and comfortable. The seats slide forward and backward, and the seat backs recline with a lever on the outside of the seat cushion – much easier to reach than the knobs that some manufacturers place at the top of the seat backs. The third row can be accessed from both the driver and passenger sides; both sections of the second-row seat slide forward and are out of the way. The standard 50/50 split third-row seat provides acceptable adult comfort, which bodes well for the most likely users: children. With the second- and third-row seats folded down, the Veracruz’s cargo space is 86.8 cubic feet. Luggage space drops to 40 cubic feet when the second-row seats are up, and 13.4 cubic feet when the third-row seats are up. Hyundai’s maximum towing capacity is a respectable 3,500 pounds.
