Volvo VCC RBS0-2AE
The specification was introduced in 2015 for the latest generation of “DRIVE-E” gasoline (VEP) and diesel (VED) engines equipped with catalytic reduction systems and diesel particulate filters (DPF) and environmentally friendly VEA (Volvo Environmental Architecture) EURO 6 four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines. Low-viscosity, fully synthetic 0W20 ACEA A1/B1 viscosity engine oil. This specification must be used in all markets except the USA.
Volvo VCC 95200377
Approved for gasoline and diesel engines. Meets ACEA A5/B5-12, SAE 0W30, and API SL specifications for superior lubrication of atmospheric and turbocharged engines (2.0l, 2.3l, 2.4l, 2.5l, 3.0l, 3.2l, 4.4l) produced after 2004. Fully synthetic energy-saving oil.
Volvo VCC 95200356
Approval for Volvo 2.5L and 2.4L diesel (single-stage injection) and gasoline 5-cylinder engines built before 2007, which were designed for SAE 0W-30 SAE A3/B4, SAE 0W30 oils.
VDS-4
A new standard based on the requirements of API CJ-4. The VDS-4 standard, compared to API CJ-4, has stricter requirements in the Mack T-12, Cummins ISM, and Cummins ISB tests plus the Volvo D12D test. Oils are available in two viscosity ranges SAE 5W-30 and SAE 15W-40. The VDS-4 standard is designed for all engines manufactured after 2007. VDS-4 motor oils provide better wear protection, thermal stability, and oxidation stability compared to VDS-3 oils. The standard is primarily designed for Volvo vehicles with EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), DPF (Diesel Particulate Filters), and/or SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) systems. In addition, VDS-4 oils can be used in all other Volvo engines as long as fuel with low sulfur content, up to 5000 ppm (0.5%), is used.
VDS-3
The standard was developed for Volvo’s Euro 3 engines but is recommended for earlier models as well. VDS-3 oils are not suitable for vehicles with diesel particulate filters (DPFs). VDS-3 oils resist soot formation, prevent deposits on pistons and cylinder liners and protect against wear. VDS-3 complies with API CI-4 and ACEA E7. The main difference from VDS 2 is in strengthening all major parameters to extend the terms of oil replacement.
VDS-2
The standard was developed for Volvo’s Euro 2 engines which meet the 1996 European exhaust emission requirements. VDS-2 oils for Volvo trucks produced up to and including 2004. Exceeds VDS requirements by all major parameters. Meets ACEA E1-96, SAE SAE 5W-30, 5W-40, 10W-30, 10W-40 or 15W-40.
VDS
Specification for extended drain intervals for engine oils used in older diesel engines with turbocharged Euro-1. Basic requirements: viscosity SAE 15W-40 or 10W-30; quality no lower than API CD.
Oil service volume for Volvo S60
The amount and viscosity of engine oil depend on the generation of the Volvo S60, the volume, and type of the engine, as well as the degree of its wear.

Volvo S60 Generations
Volvo S60 2018 (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), 7 generation
A minimalist design both on the outside and on the inside, a clear brand image with its horizontal T-DRL in the headlights (T was from the Nordic god Thor) and only state-of-the-art engines and features. The outside look is somehow similar to a shrunken S80 with which it shares the same SPA (Scalable Product Architecture). The rear shoulders over the fenders were typical for a Volvo. But it was more than a shorter S80. On the front, the bumper featured big air-scoops in front of the wheels, to cool the brakes. It was a sign of performance. And for most versions, it was true.
Volvo S60 2013 (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), 6 generation
The 2013 S60 was as stylish at it could get, offering cutting-edge safety systems, impressive comfort and powerful engines. A 3.0-liter engine was fitted with the T6 R-Design, boasting 325 hp and 354 lb.-ft of torque. The power was sent to all of 4 wheels through a standard 6-speed automatic transmission.
Volvo S60 2010 (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), 5 generation
Built on a shorter S80 platform, the mid-size sedan was 1 inch longer, 2 inches wider and a longer wheelbase compared to the previous model. The classy interior design was modernised and still kept the “floating” center stack control panel.
Volvo S60 2008 (2008, 2009, 2010), 4 generation
Under its skin, the S60 had great engineering used to protect its passengers, reason why Volvo was always on top of the list when it came to safety. The small exterior changes consisted of a redesigned front grille and fascia to improve aerodynamics. For 2008, the turn signals were integrated into the outside mirrors.
Volvo S60 2004 (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007), 3 generation
After four years on the market, the revolutionary Volvo S60 was refreshed and brought cleaner engines and better safety systems. As of January 2005, all vehicles registered in Europe had to fit in the Euro 4 pollution standards, and Volvo had to refresh its lineup. At that time, Volvo was still owned by Ford, and it has to use some of its technologies. But, in the end, Ford took some platforms and engines from the Swedish carmaker.
Volvo S60 2003 (2003, 2004), 2 generation
Volvo had a very long motorsport history, and it decided to prove that when it introduced the R-version for its midsize sedan, the S60. Under the hood, Volvo installed a 5-cylinder turbocharged engine that sent its power in all corners via a 6-speed manual, and a 5-speed automatic was available as an option.
Volvo S60 2000 (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004), 1 generation
Volvo S60 is, just like many other Volvo cars, a vehicle equipped with advanced safety technologies as well as with powerful technical features which could help it provide impressive performances.
