Volvo VCC RBS0-2AE
The specification was introduced in 2015 for the latest generation of “DRIVE-E” gasoline (VEP) and diesel (VED) engines equipped with catalytic reduction systems and diesel particulate filters (DPF) and environmentally friendly VEA (Volvo Environmental Architecture) EURO 6 four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines. Low-viscosity, fully synthetic 0W20 ACEA A1/B1 viscosity engine oil. This specification must be used in all markets except the USA.
Volvo VCC 95200377
Approved for gasoline and diesel engines. Meets ACEA A5/B5-12, SAE 0W30, and API SL specifications for superior lubrication of atmospheric and turbocharged engines (2.0l, 2.3l, 2.4l, 2.5l, 3.0l, 3.2l, 4.4l) produced after 2004. Fully synthetic energy-saving oil.
Volvo VCC 95200356
Approval for Volvo 2.5L and 2.4L diesel (single-stage injection) and gasoline 5-cylinder engines built before 2007, which were designed for SAE 0W-30 SAE A3/B4, SAE 0W30 oils.
VDS-4
A new standard based on the requirements of API CJ-4. The VDS-4 standard, compared to API CJ-4, has stricter requirements in the Mack T-12, Cummins ISM, and Cummins ISB tests plus the Volvo D12D test. Oils are available in two viscosity ranges SAE 5W-30 and SAE 15W-40. The VDS-4 standard is designed for all engines manufactured after 2007. VDS-4 motor oils provide better wear protection, thermal stability, and oxidation stability compared to VDS-3 oils. The standard is primarily designed for Volvo vehicles with EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), DPF (Diesel Particulate Filters), and/or SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) systems. In addition, VDS-4 oils can be used in all other Volvo engines as long as fuel with low sulfur content, up to 5000 ppm (0.5%), is used.
VDS-3
The standard was developed for Volvo’s Euro 3 engines but is recommended for earlier models as well. VDS-3 oils are not suitable for vehicles with diesel particulate filters (DPFs). VDS-3 oils resist soot formation, prevent deposits on pistons and cylinder liners and protect against wear. VDS-3 complies with API CI-4 and ACEA E7. The main difference from VDS 2 is in strengthening all major parameters to extend the terms of oil replacement.
VDS-2
The standard was developed for Volvo’s Euro 2 engines which meet the 1996 European exhaust emission requirements. VDS-2 oils for Volvo trucks produced up to and including 2004. Exceeds VDS requirements by all major parameters. Meets ACEA E1-96, SAE SAE 5W-30, 5W-40, 10W-30, 10W-40 or 15W-40.
VDS
Specification for extended drain intervals for engine oils used in older diesel engines with turbocharged Euro-1. Basic requirements: viscosity SAE 15W-40 or 10W-30; quality no lower than API CD.
Oil service volume for Volvo V60
The amount and viscosity of engine oil depend on the generation of the Volvo V60, the volume, and type of the engine, as well as the degree of its wear.

Volvo V60 Generations
Volvo V60 2018 (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), 3 generation
The 2018 V60 emerged with a radical design change from its predecessor. While the first-generation V60 looked like a four-door station wagon, the second generation returned to a more formal station wagon form. The car’s exterior featured a new front end in the Swedish minimalist style. Its clean lines and flat surfaces were reminiscent of some IKEA furniture pieces, but more rugged. The profile showed sculpted doors, body panels, and a belt line rising to the rear of the car, elevated above the enlarged rear fenders. Vertically positioned taillights framed the sloping front tailgate in an already typical Volvo design. Inside, the V60 provides room for five adults. Up front, Volvo installed two bucket seats separated by a square center console. Unlike its predecessor, there was no floating center console on the dashboard. A large 12.3-inch portrait-type touchscreen occupies the center console flanked by a pair of vertical air vents. The Sensus infotainment system was unusual for a car segment dominated by floating screens in portrait mode above the center pillar. The rear 40/20/40 split folding bench seating had enough room for three adults. The V60 provided 529 liters (18.7 cubic feet) of trunk space, expandable to 1,441 liters (50.9 cubic feet) with the rear seats folded.
Volvo V60 2014 (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), 2 generation
For the 2014 model year, Volvo updated the V60 lineup and added several new features, including several engines. At the front, the car got new headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. A set of bi-xenon lights was included in the list of options or installed as standard equipment, depending on the version of the car. The outline of the car became clearer, and the new hood enhanced the muscular look of the car. The automaker introduced a new bumper with an A-shaped lower grille for the R-Design trim level and moved the DRLs into the side fairings. Under the hood, Volvo introduced new turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines. It offered the car a very wide choice of engines. It was available with front or all-wheel drive.
Volvo V60 2010 (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), 1 generation
Volvo introduced the first-generation V60 model in 2010 under new management after Ford sold the company to Chinese giant Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. Volvo made a rounded front fascia with teardrop-shaped headlights tilted back and up on the front fenders. The automaker made a rising belt line ending in a D-pillar at the rear of the car. It looked like a shooting brake, but had four doors. Behind the rear doors, the designers placed narrow windows sloping down on their upper side. The rear door slid forward and had a roof spoiler, creating a dynamic look for the Swedish station wagon. Volvo chose high-quality materials for the interior trim. It was a premium brand, and it tried to equip its cars with premium materials, even though the Swedish automaker moved some switches and buttons from Ford’s parts bin. The V60 had a unique dashboard with a center speedometer flanked by two screens, as well as fuel level and temperature gauges on the sides. The V60’s front bucket seats featured Volvo’s patented WHIPS (whiplash protection system) headrests, and a 40/20/40 split-folding rear bench increased trunk capacity from 430 liters (15.2 cubic feet) to 1,246 liters (44 cubic feet) when folded.
Volvo V60 Cross Country 2018 (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), 2 generation
Like the V60 on which it is based and the S60 sedan, the second-generation Volvo V60 Cross Country is based on the Volvo Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, which is used on all current models. Essentially a V60 station wagon with increased seating height and standard all-wheel drive, the V60 Cross Country wears a nameplate that is shared with other Volvos, and is a bit of a legend in its own right. Based on an all-new platform, the second-generation model is bigger in almost every way, and its design follows the same lines as its big brothers in the 90-series, but with an added dose of the automaker’s SUV ruggedness. Aside from the ride height, which has been increased by 60 mm over the regular V60, the most distinctive features of the Cross Country are the black plastic additions on the wheel arches and lower portions of the front and rear bumpers, which are made specifically for this model. The new V60 Cross Country is powered exclusively by four-cylinder engines ranging from 190 to 250 horsepower and can be paired with either an Aisin eight-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. As expected, all-wheel drive is standard on all Cross Country models, including the V60.
Volvo V60 Cross Country 2015 (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), 1 generation
